Mark-Viverito blasts Obama for broken Puerto Rico promise

Calling it a “blow to the entire Puerto Rican community,” City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito blasted President Obama for breaking a campaign promise to help the financially troubled island.

Mark-Viverito — a fellow Democrat — blasted Obama for allowing the federal government to decrease funding in Puerto Rico by 11% for the Medicare Advantage program, while the rest of the U.S. got a 3% increase.
